It can seem strange at first: How can we learn anything about your energetic patterns when you aren't physically in the room?
Remote bioenergetic testing is based on the idea that the body is more than just its physical parts — it is also an incredibly complex system of electrical activity, frequencies, and information.
For a remote session, a small biological sample such as hair is used as a personal reference during the testing process. The QEST4 system then compares energetic information through its library of thousands of frequency patterns. QEST4 describes the biological sample as a way of helping connect or 'ground' the testing process specifically to that individual.
So Where Does Quantum Physics Come In?
This is where things get fascinating.
For most of our everyday lives, we think of objects as completely separate from one another. If two things are miles apart, we naturally assume they can no longer be connected.
But when scientists study matter at its smallest level — atoms and subatomic particles — the rules become very different.
One of the best-known examples is quantum entanglement. Scientists have demonstrated that two particles can share correlations even when they are separated by enormous distances. In other words, at the quantum level, distance does not always work the way our everyday experience tells us it should.
Think of it like this:
Imagine two perfectly synchronized clocks. You take one to New York and the other to California. Even though they are thousands of miles apart, there is still a relationship between what you observe in one and what you observe in the other.
Quantum entanglement is much more complicated than that, but the important idea is simple: modern physics has shown that nature can contain relationships and correlations that aren't explained by ordinary, everyday ideas about distance.
Because of discoveries like these, some researchers and bioenergetic practitioners have proposed that biological systems may involve forms of information or interaction that we do not yet completely understand. Quantum concepts such as 'nonlocality' are sometimes used as a possible framework for thinking about how distance-based energetic practices might operate. Researchers have explored these ideas, although the evidence is not yet strong enough to establish a proven biological mechanism.
Does That Mean Your Hair Is 'Quantum Entangled' With You?
We wouldn't make that claim.
Quantum physics has absolutely demonstrated entanglement between particles, but science has not demonstrated that a person's hair remains quantum-entangled with their entire body in a way that allows health information to be medically measured from a distance.
Even QEST4's own discussion of remote testing acknowledges that the exact mechanism is not fully understood and cautions against simply labeling the process 'quantum.'
A better way to think about it is this:
The biological sample gives the practitioner a physical reference connected to you, while the QEST4 system evaluates patterns according to its bioenergetic testing model. Quantum physics helps show us that the natural world can behave in ways that challenge our traditional ideas about separation and distance — but it does not yet provide a complete scientific explanation for remote bioenergetic testing.
